Racing School

We will go on vacation next year and want to take some racing school.  I saw Singha Racing School 3 days class also Karting school at Motor Sport Land.  Have anybody take that class?  What do you thing about it?

ผมจบคอร์ส Singha Racing School รุ่นที่ ๑ เรียบร้อยไปนานนนแล้วครับ อิอิ
หลักๆก็เรียนรู้เรื่อง ไลน์,การเข้าไลน์ อะไรทำนองนี้หล๊ะครับ

Do you like it?  How much track time do you have?  Do they let the student out by them self or with the instructor sit beside you?  I want to drive it hard (with in the limit of course) not like shopping if you know what I mean.

พี่จะไปเรียนทำไม อย่างพี่ต้องไปสอนเขาต่างหาก หรือว่าพี่แค่จะไปขับรถในสนามเล่นๆ ก็ว่าไปอย่าง

Driving School ในไทยมีแต่สอนแบบขำขำ ที่สอนจริงจังหน่อยก็มีของ Taki เขาใช้รถสูตร 3 และสอนในพีระฯ ไม่รู้ปัจจุบันยังมีอยู่ไหม เห็นเงียบๆ ไป



อย่าว่าอะไรเลยครับพี่โก้ ฝีมืออย่างผมอ่อนๆ ยังเคยสอนเซลล์ของค่ายรถ Exotic Car ค่ายใหญ่ของไทยมาแล้วเลย ไม่ใช่ค่ายเดียวนะ Ferrari ก็ติดต่อมา สมัยนั้นยังเป็นของ Ferma

อย่างพี่โก้ไม่ต้องพูดถึง

ของผมคอร์สวันเดียวเอง มีเรียนประมาณ ๒๐ กว่าคนมั๊ง ช่วงเช้าเรียนในห้อง เริ่มตั้งแต่ เริ่มเข้าไปนั่งในรถ ท่านั่งขับ วิธีเข้าเกียร์ วิธีเบรค นู่นเลยครับ จากนั้นก็เรื่องไลน์ หลักการเข้าไลน์ เข้าเร็วโค้ง ออกโค้งเร็ว แบบเบื้องต้น ไม่ถึงขั้นฮีลแอนด์โทลหรอกครับ ต่อมาสายๆ จะให้ไปนั่งรถทดสอบที่เตรียมไว้ โดยมีอาจารย์ขับและให้นักเรียนนั่งไปด้วย ลองเข้าโค้งต่างๆ ผ่านพื้นเปียก ผ่านกรวยต่างๆ สลาลม ฯลฯ พอมาช่วงบ่ายก็ให้ขับรถของตัวเอง จะมีอาจารย์อยู่ตามจุดต่างๆ คอยแนะนำแต่ละโค้ง พอเริ่มคล่องกันก็จับเวลาต่อรอบของแต่ละคนมาแข่งกันนะครับ

ประมาณว่าเพิ่งซื้อรถซิ่งรถแรง มาแต่ขับไม่เป็น หรือ มือใหม่หัดซิ่ง เนี่ยถือว่าสอนดีใช้ได้เลยครับ ส่วนผมก็เฉยๆนะ ไม่เคยไปอยากลองดู และ หาเรื่องไปดริฟท์ในสนามเค๊าด้วยนะครับ

You actually read my mind.  I want drive on the track hard.  OK anybody want to learn how to drive on the track?  I'll teach for free and even pay for the track rental.  You have to provide the car and full tank of gas.  We can take turn teach and learn at the same time.

I don't believe in any racing school anywhere in this world or other world. Especially, one day or three days course or even a week long racing school.  How good of racing driver you can be in that short period of time anyway.  Even if you can be good.....the best you can be is only to be as good as the one who teach you. And who is that guy? Is he the seven times world champion?...What did he drive?....Will you drive the same damn thing?....most likely the answer would be...NO....so...why waste your money.

Just go to the track....rent the track and drive. Get together with friends...find the one who know how...and drive.  Try all the competition driving theories you always read in the book or internet, and see what work and what not. These day, there are plenty of Club and Group that organize a track day for any wanna-be racing driver that you can clock your lap time and get the real feeling(more or less) of racing.

Let me tell you about myself then it's your turn.  Sorry I can't type in Thai.

Car: 2006 Honda S2000
Racing Experiences:
2527 start being Navigator in Rally Touring Class.  By the end of the 1st year and next 3 years, me and my driver always finished in the top 10.
2531 upgrade to Professional Rally group C and finished 1 in the class and 10 over all on my 1st pro rally navigator.
2532 go to USA for college.  Start Autocross (similar to Gymkhana) with local SCCA.
2533 became BS (B-Stock) champion in my FWD Eagle Talon (4G63 Mitsubishi engine).
2534 become ESP (E-Street Prepare) champion in the same car.
2535 start racing gokart w/ Yamaha KT-100 class.
2536 finished 2nd in the point KT-100 class.
2540 finish 3rd in the point Super Sportsman Class
2546 switch to 80cc shifter kart
2550 finished 2nd in the 80cc shifter class
2549-now start tracking my Honda

I've been driving on the track for 3 years now about 10 days of track time.  I don't know much but happy to share it with anyone interesting.
