to Pongydoo track in NV
« on: April 19, 2005, 12:31:21 am »
Here is the respond I got from local Subaru club

The course is long, and if the technical section is finished, then it will be very technical.  Otherwise, it seemed like people were driving their cars faster on RFR then they ever had at any track, on any event. The front straight is very long.

RFR is definitely Horsepower Biased. It does have some unique elements like a highly banked hairpin, and challenging turn or 2.  Having driven both, I would rather drive PIR, though a new track is always a challenge.

Technical section will not be done I am now guessing until Late July or August, maybe later. After that is done, I would prefer RFR. I drove around the graded portion of the technical section on Monday, and it should be awesome when complete. (Crosses fingers)

I was there today, ditto on the extra 2.0 miles being completed in mid to late summer.  Some high horsepower cars have seen 200 mph on the front straightaway.  There's talk about SCCA approval this summer as well.

Good Driver can make slow car go fast but Fast car won't make slow driver fast.

Thank you for your response, judging from your comments...I would then not sign up for the event in RFR then so I'll definately do both BMW and Lotus day in PIR.  Next time you coming up to run at PIR let me know or if you are attending any events in California...let me know and maybe I will join you....we'll get together..

Thanks :)

Actually I am in Oregon about an hour south of Portland...I love to move down to Orange County or around there but knowing that I have to spend hours in my car each day to go to work put me off of moving to California...up here I can leave home 15 mins before my appointment and still get there in time if you know what I mean...

But I don't mind driving 500 miles or 1000 miles to go to the race track...!

Those are comments from Local Subaru Club.  I never drive a real track just auto-x.  I do race gokart but small track not big track.  Same here in Reno 15 min to work nice.  But Reno getting big Nevada is top 3 of the fast growing city in US (mostly in Las Vegas).
